Alabama Baptists, let me share with you a few things that are important and they’ve been on my mind lately. They won’t be news to you, but I wanna reemphasize them. Number one, thank you for your giving to the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering. In this time of disaster relief, we understand that the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering helps immensely in being able to meet the needs of people.
We also want to thank you for your faithful giving through the Cooperative Program. October is Cooperative Program Month. We should never take for granted Cooperative Program. It’s what we do together and perhaps what we do sometimes best together. We understand that we are looking toward the 100th anniversary next May of the Cooperative Program. Let’s celebrate with outstanding commitment in giving through the Cooperative Program.
Annual meetings are going on, we understand that in local associations. Some have had them, some will. We pray for them as they gather, but our gathering is coming up too – the annual meeting of Alabama Baptists, the reunion as we like to call it. We’re looking forward to our own Jason Allen, president of Midwestern Seminary, coming and being a part of the Tuesday evening celebration.
On behalf of Craig Carlisle, the president, we invite you to come as messengers. Be sure and register as a messenger. Remember too that we have individuals here in our own state who will be speaking to us like Albert Williams, Rob Jackson, and Ben Bowden. It’s an opportunity for us to come together, renew friendships, but also focus, very essentially focus, on Great Commission Ministries. Difference Makers is the theme. Thanks for being a difference maker!
