Today, on August 11, 2026, history was made in Alabama Baptist life.
Your State Board of Missions trustees – after the unanimous recommendation of the Transition and Search Team – have chosen a new missions leader. Dr. Derek Allen and I will be working alongside each other until January 31.
On February 1, he will become the official executive director. Pray for him and his family. I believe Dr. Allen will serve us well for many years to come.
