Merry Christmas, Alabama Baptists.
Let me share a thought with you that has been on my mind of late. That is, I cannot remember when I stopped believing in Santa Claus, but I do remember when I started believing in Jesus and it made all the difference in the world, to know that for God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son for me. Now that’s the essence of the gospel and it’s the essence of the Christmas story.
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering throughout all these years has meant so much to Southern Baptists and international missions. Our national goal as a SBC is $185 million. Alabama’s goal is 12,250,000. I don’t know what your goal is in your local church, but I can tell you we have a goal of our giving in our family, and it is to equal the largest gift we give every Christmas. That’s something that has blessed my life and I know it’s been a blessing to you.
So Alabama Baptists, have a great Christmas season, and remember, we’re on mission with the Great Commission.
