Hello again, Alabama Baptists! I’m delighted to be able to share with you, in these brief moments, a kind of overview of some events and emphases coming up. First, let me remind you of your near-future Vacation Bible School. I don’t know what your church is doing in terms of dates, but we pray, and we hope that this is going to be an outstanding time for us to be able, as churches, to reach young children, teenagers, and perhaps even adults through them. So, have a good Vacation Bible School. We’ll be praying over that because it is the very best evangelistic opportunity a church has annually, in my opinion.
Next, I’d like to encourage you to come to the ENCOURAGE Conference for senior adults. We do it annually. This year is at First Baptist Prattville again, May 4. Two dear veteran friends of mine, veteran pastors and dear friends, Jim Henry, longtime pastor, retired from First Baptist Church, Orlando, and Edwin Jenkins, the former state missionary and a veteran pastor, most recently at the First Baptist Church of Athens. I guarantee you, you will enjoy this time as senior adults. It’s one of the best times of fellowship and worship that we have, getting together.
The third item I’d like to put on your prayer list is the Southern Baptist Convention meeting this year in Orlando, the second week of June. The eighth is on Monday. That’s the Pastor’s Conference. Asheville Convention’s 9 and 10. And we’ll look forward to seeing those messengers from Alabama. I enjoy mingling with Alabama Baptists at the Southern Baptist Convention. Unlike the state convention, I’m freer to do that. I hope you’ll be there, and we’ll be able to see exciting things reported and experience again worship from God that only we can do when we’re coming together with the right attitude and doing things the right way together.
I won’t have many more opportunities to say this, but I want to say it now. Thank you for allowing me just to have a few minutes of your time. I pray that this has been a meaningful experience for you. I enjoy doing it. I enjoy being with you. I love you, Alabama Baptist, and that will never change. God bless you.
