Hello, Alabama Baptist. I want to say thank you for being a part of our online call to prayer each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.
The next call to prayer will focus on praying without ceasing. That’s always been a problematic verse to me. Paul was exclaiming that in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 17.
I’ve pondered that most all of my adult life, thinking about how in the world can you pray without ceasing? Then one day, it just simply dawned on me that praying without ceasing means that our walk with God is so close and so genuine that we can just lapse into a conversation with Him.
We can do it in the daily, mundane routine of life. We can do it while driving an automobile. We don’t want to close our eyes, but I call that prayer driving. I’ve done that for years, now.
So this next time we pray together, let’s focus on the fact that we can walk with God in such a way that, living up to the declaration of Paul, we can pray without ceasing. In this virus epidemic and pandemic, there’s never a greater moment of need than right now to pray without ceasing.
