Hello there, Alabama Baptists! October is the month for appreciation, specifically for ministers and other staff, people called by God to be servants in the local church. Take an opportunity during this month to say thank you to your staff, to your minister, your pastor, and let them know how much you love and appreciate them. A card, a text, yes, even a gift, all of that goes a long way in giving them the sense of affirmation they need.
Appreciation is also in store for all of us who are involved as a family of faith and giving through the Cooperative Program. This is Cooperative Program Month in terms of emphasis. So, thank you for your faithful giving. Well, just around the corner now, we have our state convention meeting. And I would like to remind you again to be with us there in Whitesburg, as we look forward to gathering with the theme, Compelled, based on 2 Corinthians 5:14. We talk about and remind ourselves of being compelled by the love of Christ.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jeff Iorg of the SBC Executive Committee, CEO and President. The combined choir of Whitesburg Baptist Church will be there to provide music, and it’ll be a time of fellowship, a good reunion for all Alabama Baptists to be able to see each other again and thank God for the fellowship we have together. Remember, we have one mission, the Great Commission, one program, the Cooperative Program, and we have many ministries we’re all involved in. They’re Great Commission Ministries. God bless you as you serve Him.
