You don’t have to be reminded that it is vacation time. Traveling the state, you can find on I-65, I-85, especially I-65, it’s like a parking lot sometimes. You see all these out-of-state tags. It’s vacation time, and people they’ve discovered the Alabama beaches.
But during vacation time, we need to be reminded that we do need rest. Even Jesus in His ministry set the example, finding respite. But there’s no way we should take a vacation from God. I heard a man amusingly and humorously making a joke, saying, “I’m going to take a vacation from God this summer.” Oh, no, we can’t do that!
What we need to do is stay in tune with Him. It’s a time to recharge our batteries, to refocus our lives, but also remember to rededicate ourselves to Him and His mission, the Great Commission.
