Belated new year’s blessings, Alabama Baptist. I do hope and pray that the year of 2022 will be yours and my most productive year, as we serve the Lord together.
I don’t make new year’s resolutions anymore, but I made a commitment, a vow. I do that every year now. And this year, mine has been simply to live in the moment.
Oftentimes, we find ourselves living in the past because things have happened that caused us to have guilt or some other kind of feeling about sorrow or failure. And living in the past can dominate us, it can enslave us. We cannot do that.
Furthermore, we can’t even live in the future. We don’t know what the future holds, obviously, and we can plan for the future, that’s what we ought to, but really they ought to be soft plans because the real hard planning is out of our control.
Therefore, living in the moment. That’s where Christ is for us right now, He’s living in the moment. Taking that precious moment, each and every one, that God gives us in 2022 and making it a communion with the Lord. Staying in the moment will free us from stress, allow us to be more productive, and we can give God even more glory. Live in the moment.
